Welcome to Eugene's Progressions.
A progression is a movement forward, a series with a definite pattern of advance. A chord progression is a string of changing chords with the aim of creating music. When one is able to create his own progression, and play music from his heart, I believe it's called magic!
This blog was created in the attempt to organized the chord sheets of the songs played in our worship services. I have been a church musician for quite some time and I realized the importance of 'passing the baton' to the next generation of musicians. This is a compilation of songs and their chord progressions as interpreted by the author, his friends, or some generous person from the Internet. I will try to include a video for each song to demonstrate the chord progression.
If you are looking for a 'how-to-play-a-song' then this is not quite the site for you. We simply show the progression (sequence of the chords, the timing and chord inversions) . I believe a musician should learn to develop his own style of playing. Although at first we may emulate a style, but in the end, we should learn to develop our own. If you like to play the song as it was performed, perhaps the best way is to get the music sheet of that song.
Now, let me just briefly orient you on how this blog is organized. The blog has four 'menus' that contains links for easy access to songs and tutorials.
