This song has an easy progression. You only have to memorize two progression, one for the verse and chorus and one for the bridge. I just do the chords during the entire song. On the bridge, however, the play two notes *(C - B - C) to add a little detail to the sound aside from the chord itself. I'm not sure if they do that in the original, it's either they did or I am just hearing extra sounds.

I love the intro of this song. Makes me want to play it over and over again.

Some musicians would try make the music sound like the original, but I just love to improvise. I guess that's true with most church musicians. Anyway, in the original song after the second chorus, the chord stops at Bb for four counts then goes to Am for the bridge. What we did is do the intro chords again before doing the bridge. I think it gives the singers a time to 'build up' the song.

Post Script:
Jon Owens is the composer of the song 'Fire Burns'. I have always thought that it was written by a Filipino since it was popular during the Campus Harvest here in the Philippines several years ago. We sang this song several times during the EN07 in Manila and he's a great worship leader and I praise God for such amazing talents.

On Sound
It's a guitar driven song, so the keyboard part is not that prominent, though I think synth voices and jazz/draw organs are used. I usually settle for synth strings for the most part of the song and I change my sound to electric organ at the bridge.
